When they dropped in to triple j they confirmed to Vijay that they have a title ready for their next album – even though they haven’t written any songs for it yet.

They decided on the name Congratulations before they’d even finished work on their debut.

"It was more of a sarcastic congratulations. It just feels right. It's funnier now. We had no idea what was going to happen with the first album in terms of success or radio play. You know, it's been a crazy year so now it's even more annoying that the second album's called congratulations."

MGMT will head to the studio after this tour to start work on the new material.
